Midsummer’s day has recently been and gone, but this is still a good time to look back on the first full year of ‘Broken Promises, Book One, Beginnings’. I felt apprehensive, a little more than a year ago as I prepared to self publish through Amazon, with it being my first novel I wasn’t sure how it would be received and if I was doing things right with the publishing.
Almost straightaway I realised that I had made some little mistakes, including the spelling mistake on the spine cover of the paperback. Even though I realised my first attempt wasn’t perfect, I decided to leave it as it was, and make it the first edition with the intention of making changes and alterations to a later book. The second edition I hope will include side stories with the Bellnet brothers, along with other little changes.
The second edition will be some time down the line, as I want to continue writing new material first. Those who bought a first edition should think of themselves as lucky, it could be valuable one day, with their been few of them. I’m so grateful to everyone who bought a copy, especially the stranger in Germany who pre-ordered one.
To help mark the first full year of my book, I published an article on the process of creating the cover art, which froze some interesting light on the creative process.
The second book in the series ‘Journey’ will be published in time for Christmas, more information on the release date will be posted here on my website first.
